Ronald McDonald House: The Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley is conveniently located near the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center. The house accommodates 12 families each night in private bed-rooms with baths. The House also includes a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, play room and lounge areas. A family can stay at the House as long as their child is receiving treatment at one of our partner hospitals. On average, a family will stay at the House for 20 nights; however, families have stayed with us for as long as nine months.The house is accessible to families 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. The office is open seven days per week from 9am-9pm. An initial referral must be made by a social worker at one of the partner hospitals.
If a family is not interested in residing at the Ronald McDonald House, there are a number and variety of hotel and motel accommodations and restaurants within a short driving distance of Maria Fareri Children's Hospital. Children's Hospital of WI
Ronald McDonald House: The Ronald McDonald House of Eastern Wisconsin is conveniently located across the street from the hospital. It recently completed an expansion and now offers 70 rooms. If a family is not interested in residing at the Ronald McDonald House or the patient is over the age guidelines (patient must be under the age of 21) we will provide information of alternative short term housing options. Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin has discounted rates with many of the hotels in the area. Please see the list attached for hotel details.
Travel Compensation: Depending on where the patient/family is traveling from we may be able to assist with travel compensation. Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin has a relationship with Southwest Airlines where it can receive complimentary airline tickets if a patient needs to travel to Milwaukee for medical care. There are a few other travel compensation programs through the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, National Children’s Cancer Society and American Airlines that we can refer to if needed.
For families traveling within the state of Wisconsin we can look at obtaining transportation/mileage reimbursement for families to assist with their gasoline expenses.
For families that don’t have their own means of transportation within the state of Wisconsin we are able to set up Medical Transportation.
Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin offers numerous support services through The Daniel M. Soref Family Resource Center. Their services/programs are offered to patients and families being served on an inpatient and/or outpatient basis.
Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin School Program offers school services to our patients both inpatient and in the outpatient BMT clinic.

It is the only facility of its kind in Boston. The space includes 16 private apartments, 2 common kitchen areas and 2 living rooms. All necessities such as laundry, telephones, internet access and reading libraries are available to families staying here. Our staff will work with the hospital to set up other arrangement options if the rooms at the Neely House are full. The Neely House is your family's home away from home while your child is receiving care from our dedicated Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team.

About The Neely House
- Each apartment can house a family from one to six people and has a kitchenette and bathroom.
- Guests also have use of two full kitchens, two common lounge areas, free laundry, a media room and a resource room.
- Support is all around. All residents are undergoing similar experiences so it provides a network of support.
- The cost per night for The Neely House is $50.00 and does not include parking.
- Parking is in the Tremont Street Garage and can be validated when you check in at The Neely House.
- Reservations are processed on a first come, first served basis.
- To request a stay, please contact your social worker who will send in a referral for the dates requested. Once received, you will be contacted by The Neely House staff to book or waitlist according to our availability.

Through play, education and other therapeutic interventions, children and their families have the opportunity to develop positive coping skills, increase understanding, optimize developmental potential and express concerns. Child Life specialists provide individualized and group therapeutic intervention at the bedside or in pediatric activity areas on a regular basis.
